My Story
I’m Nick Burnett, Founder and CEO of Tailgate, and I’m a diehard Detroit & Michigan sports fan living in the Philly area. I’ve made countless trips to the bar, but I always find myself watching my favorite teams alone. Despite searching online and exhausting social media, I’ve never found an easy way to find watch parties and meetups in my area.
So, I decided to build an app for displaced fans like me so they could find and connect with each other. That’s when Tailgate was born.
Why I Built Tailgate
Being a fan is who we are.
We proudly wear our team’s gear on trips to the grocery store because we love our city, hometown, or team.
We crave the excitement. The nerves when the stakes are the highest. We suffer heartbreaking losses year after year all for the rush of getting that big win. But being an out-of-market fan shouldn’t mean flying solo.
