My Story

I’m Nick Burnett, Founder and CEO of Tailgate, and I’m a diehard Detroit & Michigan sports fan in the Philly area. I’ve made countless trips to the bar, but I was always watching my favorite teams alone. And even though I’ve looked online and on social media, I’ve never found an easy way to find watch parties and meetups in my area.

So I decided to build a simple way for out-of-state fans like me to find and connect with each other and that’s when Tailgate was born.

Why Build Tailgate?

Being a fan is who we are.

We proudly wear our team’s gear on trips to the grocery store because we love our city, hometown, or team.

We crave the excitement. The nerves when the stakes are the highest. We suffer heartbreaking losses year after year all for the rush of getting that big win. But being an out-of-market fan shouldn’t mean flying solo.
